Luís Abegão Pinto

Dr. Pinto’s main areas of interest are glaucoma surgery, artificial intelligence, and screening. As of now, he is critical in 105 indexed, peer-reviewed papers on glaucoma. Dr. Pinto is actively engaged in a number of scientific ophthalmological societies, including the European Glaucoma Society (EGS) and European Association for Vision and Eye Research, having chaired and co-chaired a number of courses in international ophthalmology societies’ meetings. Since 2018, he serves in the EGS Executive Board and is currently the EGS Vice President. Moreover, he is co-chair of the EGS Task Force on Glaucoma Surgery, co-editing the new “Guides on Innovations in Glaucoma Surgery”.
