Konrad Schargel

Dr. Schargel has held leading positions in academic and clinical ophthalmology in Spain and the Middle East, including directing Spain’s first glaucoma fellowship. His research interests include congenital glaucoma, deep sclerectomy, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), and long-term outcomes of glaucoma implants. He served as an examiner for the European Board of Ophthalmology as well as authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. Dr. Schargel remains dedicated to innovation in surgical education and to improving glaucoma care worldwide.
