Paul Healey

Dr. Healey is an internationally recognised ophthalmologist clinician-scientist with degrees in Epidemiology and Clinical Trials, as well as Cell Biology. His PhD was in glaucoma epidemiology, risk, and diagnosis. His research interests include glaucoma, ophthalmic epidemiology and public health, cell biology, diagnostic testing and screening evaluation, and genetic epidemiology, for which he has been awarded significant research grants. He has made 295 scientific presentations at meetings throughout the world and has authored 216 peer-reviewed publications, chapters, and textbooks. He holds leadership positions at Australian Vision Research, the Australian and New Zealand Glaucoma Society, the Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Society, and the World Glaucoma Association, and has been honoured with awards from the Association of International Glaucoma Societies, the Philippine Glaucoma Society, and the Australian and New Zealand Glaucoma Society.
